A smooth, short coated dog with a long body, loose skin and long low set ears. The Bassett Hound hunts by scent and is capable of great endurance.

Weight Range 18 - 27 kg.

The Bassett Hound has a deep 7 melodious bark and is an affectionate, placid breed. Never aggressive, although they can be wilful.
